Oluwapelumi Adeyera

I believe that impact is not achieved through one-size-fits-all solutions, but through work that respects context, values local knowledge, and adapts continuously to the systems it seeks to influence.

Oluwapelumi Adeyera is a researcher and learning specialist whose work sits at the intersection of evidence, context, and systems change. With over a decade of experience across humanitarian and development settings, her professional journey has been shaped by a consistent question: how can research move beyond insight to actually influence decisions, programs, and people’s lived realities?

Trained in public health and grounded in mixed-methods research, Oluwapelumi has led and supported studies spanning SRHR, gender equality, nutrition, and community-led development across Africa. Through participatory research methods and community-centric approaches, she works to amplify voices that are often unheard in policy discussions. Whether conducting mixed-methods research, designing MEL frameworks or building capacity among local organizations, her focus remains constant: ensuring that evidence reflects lived experiences and that solutions honor context.

She has trained research teams, managed multi-country evaluations, and authored publications in peer-reviewed journals. But what she values most are the moments when data transforms into dialogue, when findings become a foundation for communities to advocate for change on their own terms.

Sonder resonates with Oluwapelumi because it embodies the principle she has learned time and again: meaningful change requires listening deeply, designing collectively, and staying grounded in the realities of those we aim to serve. In Sonder's collaborative, values-driven approach, she has found a home for her belief that the best research doesn't extract knowledge: it builds it together.

At Sonder, Oluwapelumi contributes to evidence-based program design across vulnerability segments, builds capacity for partners, and ensures that research processes center community voices and local expertise.
